The Ceranchia is an indigenous silkworm to Madagscar, and the cocoons are renowned for their amazing gold colour and impressive size. Each cocoon is a double layer - a lacier outer cocoon, and a denser inner cocoon. In Madagascar, women lovingly stitch Ceranchia cocoons into large panels, using almost-invisible monofilament. We're now able to get them in this smaller (and more affordable) size. These are approximtely 9" X 12". The Brilliant Gold is the denser type. The Glistening Lace is the lacier variety. They're tantalyzingly unusual and stunningly gorgeous.
