Ordering
Ordering on our website is easy and intuitive. Sanjo Silk Ltd. accepts payment by either Visa or Mastercard.
Because skeins are wound by hand, amounts can vary slightly. When you order a specific amount (e.g. 50g), it will be +/- 2 grams of that amount.
Cones weights are inexact, although usually 500g, give or take 10g. When you order larger amounts of yarn on cones, please be flexible with the amounts. We will endeavour to supply within 50g. of your requested amount. We will charge for the actual amount we send to you.
Although we do our best to accurately represent each item in the photographs, be aware that colours change on different monitors; colours may not be exactly as indicated on your monitor.
From time to time, prices need to be adjusted. The current price is visible on the website. Invoices will be based on this price.
Currency Options
Use the selector in the top left corner of the site's pages to select either Canadian or US dollar currency for viewing the site. Prices on the site will be shown in your selected currency. Please note that all purchases are processed in Canadian dollars, so the checkout prices may look different from the ones you're viewing while shopping on the site. Please be assured that the exchange rate is up to the minute, calculated by our shopping cart program.
If You Encounter Problems Ordering...
The vast majority of the declined credit card transacions on our website are a result of a problem with the billing address not being the same as the address the credit card company has on file for the cardholder. Please be sure to use the billing address the credit card company has for you to avoid this problem. If you know this isn't the problem, and you're still unable to complete your transaction, please contact us at info(at)sanjosilk(dot)com, or through the form you'll find on our Contact Us page.
Volume Orders
Orders of $200+ will receive free shipping (in North America, based on total not including taxes)
Orders of $400+ will receive free shipping + 10% off (in North America based on total not including taxes)
In the case of sale items, free shipping will be calculated on the sale price.
We regret that we cannot offer the free shipping offer to areas outside North America.
For Production Artists
Orders of 3kg+ of one type of undyed yarn, on cones, will receive a 30% discount
Orders of 30+ metres of one fabric, in one piece, will receive a 30% discount

Returns Policy
We make every effort to send you first quality goods. If the goods you receive are defective, please send us an email to obtain return authorization before returning the goods. In this case, we will pay for return shipping, and you can be refunded, or exchange the goods for other merchandise.
In the event that you change your mind and wish to return part or all of your shipment, there will be a 15% restocking charge; you will be responsible for return shipping costs; we will credit your account. Please be sure goods are returned in a resaleable condition.
All returns must be initiated within 45 days of purchase.
If you receive goods that have been damaged during shipping, a claim must be initiated through Canada Post. Please contact us.
Please note that refunds must be processed within 60 days of your original purchase. We need the transaction number of the original purchase in order to process a refund.
Any goods returned to Sanjo Silk must be sent by post and marked "Returned Goods" on the outside of the parcel. The cost of the return postage is borne by the sender.
Tax and Duties
All Canadian customers will have the 5% GST added to their orders. International customers are tax exempt.
For our International customers, your order may be subject to duties and taxes upon arrival. These tarrifs are levied by your country, and you are responsible for any of these costs.
Shopping in Person
As yummy as the yarns look on the website, nothing compares to sinking your fingers into the yarns and enjoying their textures, colours and personalities. And we do have unique, limited quantity items in the studio that we can't sell online. So if you're in Vancouver, come and see us at the Silk Weaving Studio on Granville Island. Maps have a difficult time with us because we're not on a road. We're situated in a beautiful waterfront location, on a leafy courtyard, between the Sandbar Restaurant and the Ocean Cement plant. We're worth finding.
