Sanjo Silk Ltd. accepts payment by either Visa or Mastercard. Use the selector in the top left corner of the site's pages to select either Canadian or US dollars. Prices on the site will be shown in your selected currency; all purchases are processed in Canadian dollars.
Because skeins are wound by hand, amounts can vary slightly. When you order a specific amount (e.g. 50g), it will be +/- 2 grams of that amount.
Cones weights are inexact, although usually 500g, give or take 10g. When you order larger amounts of yarn on cones, please be flexible with the amounts. We will endeavour to supply within 50g. of your requested amount. We will charge for the actual amount we send to you.
Although we do our best to accurately represent each item in the photographs, be aware that colours change on different monitors; colours may not be exactly as indicated on your monitor.
From time to time, prices need to be adjusted. The current price is visible on the website. Invoices will be based on this price.
Orders of $200+ will receive a 10% discount (not including taxes or shipping)
Orders of $400+ will receive a 20% discount (not including taxes or shipping)
Orders of 3kg+ of undyed yarn on cones will receive a 30% discount (not including taxes or shipping)
Orders of 50+ metres of one fabric, in one piece, will receive a 30% discount (not including taxes or shipping)
Sale items cannot be included in this discount arrangement.
When you place your order, the discount will not be calculated "live" during checkout. We will apply your discount after we've received your order, based on our ability to fill your requirements, and it will be provided as a refund on your credit card.
We make every effort to send you first quality goods. If the goods you receive are defective, please send us an email to obtain return authorization before returning the goods. In this case, we will pay for return shipping, and you can be refunded, or exchange the goods for other merchandise.
In the event that you change your mind and wish to return your shipment, there will be a 15% restocking charge; you will be responsible for return shipping costs; we will credit your account. Please be sure goods are returned in a resaleable condition.
If you receive goods that have been damaged during shipping, a claim must be initiated through Canada Post. Please contact us.
Please note that refunds must be processed within 60 days of your original purchase. We need the transaction number of the original purchase in order to process a refund.
Any goods returned to Sanjo Silk must be sent by post and marked "Returned Goods" on the outside of the parcel. The cost of the return postage is borne by the sender.
Tax and Duties
All Canadian customers will have the 5% GST added to their orders. International customers are tax exempt.
For our International customers, your order may be subject to duties and taxes upon arrival. You are responsible for any of these costs.
Shopping in Person
As yummy as the yarns look on the website, nothing compares to sinking your fingers into the yarns and enjoying their textures, colours and personalities. And we do have unique, limited quantity items in the studio that we can't sell online. So if you're in Vancouver, come and see us at the Silk Weaving Studio on Granville Island. Maps have a difficult time with us because we're not on a road. We're situated in a beautiful waterfront location, on a leafy courtyard, between the Sandbar Restaurant and the Ocean Cement plant. We're worth finding.

The feedback we get from our shopping cart provider is that the vast majority of orders that fail at checkout are because the address on the order doesn't match the credit card address, so for a successful purchase please make sure they do match.
